On March 14, Seoul Central District Court offered 15 years of penal servitude to the murderer with the last name Cho.�
Cho reportedly teared up at the court and apologized to Song Seon Mi's family. Meanwhile, Cho's lawyer asked for a�lighter sentence, stating, "Cho has no criminal history and has lived an earnest life."

In August 2017, Song Seon Mi's husband Mr. Ko was found dead�at an office in Gangnam. The police announced Mr. Ko has been stabbed to death. The investigation revealed that Cho committed the murder at the request of Mr. Ko's cousin who promised 2 billion KRW (1.9 million USD).�
The final sentence will be announced on March 16.�
