After Yang Hyun Suk's reported proposal to the winning labels of the top 'MIXNINE' trainees was met with a negative response, some insiders spoke with media outlets on what a 3-year contract could mean.

The top 9 winners of 'MIXNINE' include Woo Jin Young, ONF's Kim Hyo Jin and Kim Min Suk, A.C.E's Lee Dong Hoon and Kim Byung Kwan, Seven O'Clock's Song Han Gyeom, Lee Ru Bin, and YG's Choi Hyun Suk and Lee Byung Gon

The previously reported proposal from YG for the 'MIXNINE' winners consists of 3 years of promotions. Of the 3 years, in each year, the winners would promote 6 months with YG, and 6 months with their respective labels/groups. For most labels, a 3-year contract is close to half of a normal artist-company contract of 7 years. Furthermore, going back and forth between YG promotions and their own group promotions year round without rest, could mean physical and mental overexertion for the winners.

One insider from a label said, "Ultimately, there's nothing that could benefit the members' original labels." The insider further argued that despite having the title of YG when they debut, there's no guarantee that the winning 'MIXNINE' group will see substantial earnings.

Much of the current buzz surrounding the future of the winning 'MIXNINE' group is being met with negative response from netizens - most notably, the possibility of a 'MIXNINE' season 2.
