SM Entertainment has announced its plan to legally battle malicious commenters.
On December 8, SM Entertainment posted its intentions to take legal action on the official websites of EXO, Red Velvet, TVXQ, SHINee, and other labelmates. The agency stated, "The damage to our artists is becoming serious because of illegal acts such as defamation of character, invasion of privacy, leaks of personal information and identity theft, and the spread of malicious rumors online."
SME concluded, "We'll be appointing a dedicated law firm to continue to deal with these legal issues," and asked fans to submit evidence of damage against its artists.
