New Jersey high school teacher tells Korean students to raise hands, tells them 'I hate Koreans'

It's been recently revealed that a teacher teaching Spanish at New Jersey's Bergen Academies openly showed her racism in class. During the beginning of the year, she asked students to say where they were from. When one student revealed they were Korean, she told them "I hate Koreans". In a later class, she outright asked the Korean students to raise their hands - and when the six Korean students in the class did so, told them the same thing.

Some of the students told their counselor about the incident, but the school did nothing. The parents have recently found out and have tried to get the teacher in question fired by meeting the principal. The school promised a strict punishment to the teacher, but so far nothing has been done. The only thing that happened is that the teacher no longer teaches the 11th graders, but now teaches 9th and 10th graders instead. She's also reported to have issued a verbal apology to the students.

However, the school has mostly tried to keep the incident on the down-low, which is why the situation has just come to light now - two months after it happened. When the principal was contacted, he said, "We cannot talk about the students or the teachers of the school to outsiders. But there has been no reports of hate crime this year."
