The trailer for upcoming film 'Battleship Island' was spotted in the midst of New York City's Times Square, marking the start of the film's 'SNS Global Campaign'!
Particularly for this campaign, a 30 sec advertisement was created in four different languages: English, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. The trailer was then uploaded onto various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) to spread awareness of the reality of what occurred in Hashima Island. In the trailer posted in Times Square, the trailer ran for a total of 15 secs, depicting Hashima Island and various captions like '120 killed...', 'Hashima Island in Japan - a UNESCO Heritage site...' and 'The Island of Hell. Please Remember'.
According to the promoter of the ad, "After the ad in Times Square was uploaded, many Chinese and Japanese press releases were made and unintentionally a second round of publicity was created by various foreign media. By using symbolism, the ad went through another round of publicity through social media and it spread like wildfire on various social platforms."
'Battleship Island' has gained immense interest not only for the star studded cast, but for the historical basis of the film. The movie is set to premiere on July 26!
