TWICE revealed why they chose to promote with "Signal", which was produced by J.Y. Park.

The JYP Entertainment group were guests on the May 17th episode of 'Weekly Idol', where they performed their brand new track "Signal" for the first time. Jung Hyung Don asked, "Why did you accept a song from J.Y. Park?"
The girls hesitated before answering simply, "Because he gave it to us." Dahyun said, "It was the first time we received a song from him, so we were very excited and happy. The beginning of the song has 'JYP' in it, so it has a JYP feeling."
