With the release of his new song "Dejavu," rapper BewhY appeared on SBS 'Kim Chang Ryul's Old School' where he discussed his music career on May 12.

BewhY talked about how he was able to succeed as a rapper.  "I received a lot of love calls even before I went on 'Show Me the Money.'  But I went on the show alone.  I was able to win because I had confidence in myself."

As for his plans to enter the Western market, BewhY explained, "I'm thinking of entering the Western market before I hit 30 years old. My main goal is to create good music.  I see hip-hop culture as one in the same, it's just the difference in language that sets Korean and American hip-hop apart.  Recently, I had the opportunity to exchange ideas in terms of business," discussing his earnest desires.

Onto his role model, BewhY commented, "It changes every time."  He also mentioned how he currently enjoys playing video games with his girlfriend during his leisure time.  "I play video games with my girlfriend and afterward we go out to eat. It's great."

Bewhy the Koreans might think you are some type of MC God.. but America is another world dude.

MrDapper yoonbread Sunday, May 14, 2017

America is all about Drake and Kendrick Lamar right now...imagine Bewhy in that

yeah... um..

MrDapper yoonbread Monday, May 15, 2017

I know.

Here we go...why do they always try to make it in America? The only east Asians that have a decent chance are American Asians. Even they haven't made it in music with the exception of classical music.

I love this dude. He is an amazing rapper. But if he thinks that language is the only difference, he's in for a rude awakening.

dont go down this route bro. The western market dont really care about east asian rappers. It's been like that for years and prolly won't change for a long time. You'll most likely end up wasting your cash, so better focus on your home turf where you're big already

k_kid hiroonakamura Friday, May 12, 2017

They really don't. Otherwise, rappers like Dumbfoundead, YOX, Flowsik, Decipher, etc would gotten signed to a major label a long time ago.

hiroonakamura k_kid Saturday, May 13, 2017

exactly. the only east asian act to have done somewhat well is Far East Movement i guess. The only other Asian act (not just east asian but all of asia) is jay sean and he was big for just one year.

Dont forget about psy haha..I know he did not get famous because of his rap, but he is still a rapper. Moral of the story: You can get famous even if u are Asian, u just need to show people something different.

I like BeWhy but I would advice him rather than wasting hours playing video games he should get a tutor and use those hours to learn English fluently. I doubt Jay Z was on the basketball court every night when he wanted to make it big. If I was a famous producer and I listened to his interview, I would have concluded that he's not working hard enough to prepare himself to enter the Western Market. No one with such ambitions would waste so much time when they have a major goal to accomplish! He should spend his hours wisely to master the English language!

kpopisbaebae BigBangVIP_NYC Friday, May 12, 2017

lol. he didnt say he did it everyday. leisure time tho. all work and no play they say ...

bscm Friday, May 12, 2017

He is saddly mistaken if he thinks language is the only difference between Korean and American hip hop.
