Park Seo Joon is great in comedy and playing the nice guy, so hopefully this drama is light and funny. I seriously struggled watching him in She Was Pretty and Hwarang.

I thought i was the only one

cyrstel veronicavivian Thursday, April 20, 2017

In Hwarang, it's the plot itself. It was so dragging and the way Go Ara acted dries up every scene.

veronicavivian cyrstel Thursday, April 20, 2017

That is very true. I know he was the good guy there, and the drama was great when the focus was the friendship and struggles between the guys. But yeah, I felt like the writer tried too hard to make the main lead perfect in everything, to the point the king looked pathetic even though his life was already quite sad. And the drama wasted too many episodes with Go Ara's dry acting and rushed the plot in the last one. That honestly pissed me off.

How can anyone struggle watching Park Seo Joon

mamley_quartey veronicavivian Thursday, April 20, 2017

She was pretty was good. Hwarang, not so good but no fault of his

veronicavivian shyloone Thursday, April 20, 2017

I love Park Seo Joon, that's why I don't like it when he plays a jerk. His character in She Was Pretty was a jerk. He was a nice guy in Hwarang, but the story overall was kind of annoying to watch. I watched both dramas till the very end though, cuz I like him.

veronicavivian mamley_quartey Thursday, April 20, 2017

She Was Pretty wasn't completely bad, but it was cliche and predictable, with the male lead being a complete jerk. And it's not like I'm not used to the male leads being jerks, but his character had a few lines that really crossed the line for me. The one thing I enjoyed though, was his interaction with Siwon's character. The bromance was short but very enjoyable. Aside of that, I feel like Hwang Jung-eum is becoming a typecast actress who at some point got stuck with the same boring acting. I saw both her and Ji Sung in Secret and Kill Me Heal Me, and Ji Sung just gets better and better with every drama. Blown away with his acting in Defendant.

cyrstel veronicavivian Thursday, April 20, 2017

Maybe because KBS hyped it too much and depended more on the cast of beautiful people than the plot itself, so when it did not deliver it became very disappointing for the viewers. TBH, while watching Hwarang I'm debating if I should continue or just watch the final episode (which I kinda did). All in all, Episode 1-10 was crap. Episode 11 is when it all kinda live up but also lacking. Go Ara landing the role is very wrong, it's just plain dry.

akamepeace veronicavivian Thursday, April 20, 2017

I actually stopped watching Hwarang after ep 6 since I super hate whiny crybaby damsel in distress heroine lol. I really love both Park Seo Joon and Park Hyun Shik, but Go Ara's character and acting just killed it.

I agree Go Ara's character pissed me off lol an i only watched because of Park Seo Joon an Hyunshik
