On February 16, The Republic of Korea Army's official Facebook page featured army soldier donating part of their allowance money to the International Relief Organization.

The soldiers from the 27th Division saved up their allowance and snack money provided by their local church to donate to Ethiopian war veterans who fought alongside South Korea during the Korean War also referred to as 625. Back in 1951, Haile Selassie, the Ethiopian emperor decided to send thousands of troops to South Korea to back the United Nations force led by the United States to fight against the Communist North.

A total of 6,037 Ethiopian soldiers bravely fought in the Korean War for five years starting in May of 1951. A total of 122 Ethiopian soldiers were killed and 536 left wounded.

Currently, around 350 Ethiopian soldiers who fought in the war are still alive, and they are receiving support money from the 27th Division soldiers.

The soldiers proudly held up the photos of the war veterans and stated, "We are currently giving monthly aid to these people through NGO Good Neighbors which began five years ago."
