According to a press release, the actress commented, "I had put a lot of thought and effort into portraying a mermaid.  Although there were some difficulties, I was able to overcome them with everyone's support, happily ending the series."

She also added, "I would like to thank you all the viewers for watching 'The Legend of the Blue Sea.'  Though it was a challenging shoot, it was indeed a memorable one."  Jun Ji Hyun didn't forget the staff mentioning, "Thank you to all the staff who have endured six months filming with the cast in order to bring a wonderful story to life."

The actress promised another transformation by saying, "I will continue to do my best."
