HaHa talked about the pain that many variety show members went through.

He revealed that because of being on shows such as 'Infinity Challenge' and 'Running Man', he had to have surgery on his spinal disc. He revealed, "My spinal disc problem became so bad that I needed to undergo a procedure. My 7th disc burst seriously. But I couldn't say that I was not well. I thought everyone went through the same thing. It could be that my doctor was exaggerating, but he told me I was almost paralyzed."

He also revealed the serious injuries that other 'Running Man' members had. He said, "Yoo Jae Suk-hyung's ankle is twisted, and he has problems with his ankle, back, and neck, as well as his fingers. Gary-hyung has problems with his shoulders. He can't hold up a patbingsoo bowl because he tore one of his ligaments. For variety show members such as us who use our bodies, it's like we're athletes. But we don't have time to recover. If we get seriously injured, that gets edited out. There are things we just can't talk about, since making others laugh is our priority."

He added that he filmed 'Running Man' on Monday and Tuesdays, JTBC's 'As I Say' on Wednesdays, and 'Infinity Challenge' on Thursdays. He reveals, "Filming for 'Infinity Challenge' lasts more than a day. We filmed yesterday, we filmed the day before that, and we even have filming tonight after this."

It seems like the silver lining in the cloud is that the members of 'Running Man' will finally have some time to recuperate after the show is done. What do you think about this aspect of physical variety shows?

Now does everybody understand😡. I love running man and people kept commenting stuff like "running man is worse now they need to bring back name tag elimination" and stuff like that, CANT PEOPLE SEE THAT THEY ARE GETTING OLDER AND THEY HAVE LIVES TOO. It was shown in the beginning episode as well kim jong kook had a back problem and gary hurt his shoulder. Song jihyo is an actress, gary and kim jong kook are singer, and haha, sukjin and jae suk mc and do alot of variety shows they are all busy. Running man is still funny just becuz they arnt as active doesnt mean their humor has changed they are still as funny but insensitive pricks cant understand that.

Now do people get it? These are the reasons why Running Man slow down their games. They changed it up

hannniii AlexZheng Wednesday, January 11, 2017

I knew since beginning but insensitive pricks dont understand that and also in the begining episodes they had injuries as well. They are still funny but people dont see that and just want more action

That being said, without the physical games, it just wasn't RM anymore. I watched for both the crazy games and the comedy which usually happened during the games. The recent lame non-physical games and weak punishments were mind numbing. YJS and LKS were trying to make jokes out of air. Not to mention the games/rules not making sense as a race due to bad editing. If the injuries were getting that bad, they could have disclosed it along with plans for transition either to a new format or plans to bring in new people while giving the original members a decent send off. That or let RM end with dignity. Not like this fiasco.

This is rather sad, it's like with idols they don't get treated like humans but instead just rag dolls. And now Running Man, that's killing me inside I watched since episode one but I didn't know that they worked so hard to just make us fans happy. I'm very disappointed in SBS.

In the beginning episodes i could tell cuz kim jong kook had a back injury and gary hurt his shoulder

he has a point. same goes for idols with a lot of dancing like exo, got7, bts, very easy to get hurt

It was very uncomfortable sometimes when I feel they go to far...such as carrying the girls and spanking with the wooden stick, which I didn't think was necessary.

Miyaka08 Sunday, January 8, 2017

this is why I love and respect running man members...

Yago Sunday, January 8, 2017

I don't understand why they overwork themselves so much... He is doing three shows, so he can quit one to have more free time, but maybe money is more important than health for them

He knows, as many in the industry knows, that having a "job" is temporary. It is not a long term job, that could last them for decades. If they run out of a job or permanent placement, they could be made irrelevant before they are 40. That is why he works so hard and pushes himself so much. So that he could earn enough to make himself more independent before the age of 40.

Yep and sadly fame comes and goes, sometimes quite quickly, so you kinda have to take everything out of it when you have it- when shows want to recruit you and viewers want to see you.

Hooligan94 Sunday, January 8, 2017

This is honestly so heart breaking and I don't even know why I'm so shocked I mean whats there to expect when they're using their bodies like that nearly every day.

If fans had been so naive to think that the hosts could've escaped unscathed from all the crazy stunts they do, then maybe it is time for the show to end. The members have always hinted at the physical toll the show puts them through, and how it's becoming harder and harder. Also, I grew to love the show because of the members' camaraderie- which now surpasses the acts. But all good things must come to an end, so I wish them all the best.

I know, most fans were so naive and they always commented thing like "running man isnt the same" "they need for action" and stuff like that which really ticked me off, couldnt people see that they were getting older and some of the activities they do on the show even athletes find it hard. Plus yoo jae suk does ALOT of variety shows so he must be worn out along with haha, jong kook and sukjin they also do alot of variety
