Without a doubt, 2NE1 outshined many other girl groups because they had a strong image that is completely impossible to replicate. It isn't just about "girl power," but the fact that they released a sound, like in "I Don't Care," and showcased a confident image, such as "I'm The Best," that was unfamiliar to Korea and unique to the rest of the world is transcending. They were absolutely, in other words, bad ass.

Believe it or not, 2NE1 was one of a handful of artists that managed to be an overwhelmingly huge and successful influence overseas - wherever they went! Whether they were rocking in Japan, slaying in France or dominating the charts in the U.S., 2NE1 were the real "Gangnam Style."

Who else will own the K-Pop scene with a fusion of various genres other than 2NE1? While other groups often have an identity crisis or jump aboard the trap/rap game train that is all the trend lately, 2NE1 were pushing the sound since their hot debut with hip-hop track "Fire." The girls even dabbled in reggae styles with "I Don't Care," and "Follow Me," R&B with "It Hurts" and even EDM, futuristic sounds with "Come Back Home." Their confident releases made all their songs an instant hit.

The fashion, the fashion, THE FASHION! 2008 was the peak of K-Pop styles and fashion as many artists pushed the boundaries and stylists explored these zany, unique concepts. 2NE1's style was never questionable - it was always a fashion-forward masterpiece! From CL's infamous pink leather jacket and futuristic yellow-vizor, to Dara's whacky palm tree hair, all of their jaw-dropping clothing will be gone from the stage.

Out of all the groups out there, 2NE1 seemed to exhibit a sense of realness and authenticity. We still can't get over how funny and comical they were on their MTV show '2NE1 TV' or Park Bom's obsession with corn and bread!

It goes without saying that the reason why the group was so successful was due to the fact that they all had a unique sound. Particularly, members Park Bom and CL stood out the most as Bom has a strong, husky voice with a lot of range and CL has a flexible voice that blended nicely alongside Park Bom and stood out on its own with unique rap lines.

No one can forget the epic stage collaboration that is "Lollipop." Big Bang and 2NE1 had an epic sound, outstanding style and they went hand and hand at YG. Not only are they both international icons of K-Pop, they each exuded a confidence and charisma that was unmatched. With 2NE1 gone, it feels as if Big Bang lost a sister or even a member.

2NE1 played no games and always went all-out when producing an MV. With extravagant styles, lavish set designs, fashion-forward pieces and breathtaking stages it is no wonder the girls were revered so highly as artists. 2NE1 were trendsetters of music and no one will boast an MV as unique and powerful as theirs. Don't forget the bangin' dance routines, too!

Overall, 2NE1 was a group that didn't just make music - they moved us and touched our hearts and souls, the way a real artist would. For those days you felt unpretty or the moments you felt on top of the world, 2NE1's music was there and fit for any and every occasion. While they won't be making any more music as a group, we can also cherish the classics (like my personal favorite above).
