Producer Bang Si Hyuk , also the president of Bit Hit Entertainment, explained his stance on BTS's U.S. debut.

With BTS making records on Billboard with their latest track "Blood, Sweat & Tears", the possibility of the group making an official debut in the United States was brought up. To OSEN, Bang Si Hyuk spoke up about the hot topic and revealed his plans for BTS.

Bang Si Hyuk said, "A K-pop singer gaining attention in America's mainstream market with the genre of K-pop and competing with American mainstream artists with the goal of making an official debut overseas is completely different from the start. I believe BTS came to their position today by utilizing their strengths as K-pop singers. I'm planning to continue their growth with that focus. During the process, if they exceed a certain point and gain attention in the American mainstream market, then that'll be something to be thankful about. Other than that, I think preparing an official debut overseas is yet excessive."

According to Bang PD, "To go beyond is as wrong as to fall short."

yg artists are known in korea. His problem is equally distributing comebacks to all of the people signed under him.

I like it when people type  YG should  take note, lol, I think it's the other way around. The most Popular  commodity at YG  Bigbang never officially debut in the U.S. It just seem that way since U.S media love to write about them , include them in yearend  lists even when they are not promoting in the U.S. Who are the YG artists that  officially debut in the U.S.? Only CL , good for her!  and please refer to KPOPLolita's detailed post about it. I could not have said it  any better. With Psy, it was an accidental debut. Until now, when you say KPOP here in the U.S. people would automatically says , Psy! Gangnam Style! It's hard to explain to non-KPOP fans that there's more to KPOP than Gangnam style. So back to my question, why should YG take note from someone when he was doing the very same thing to his artists?

Bang Si Hyuk is just like American music executives. Why spend money on something with risk when you can make bank doing what you're already good at? Recently I email iHeartMedia/Clear Channel Communications, and asked which of their radio stations I should listen to if I wanted to hear top International music like BlackPink's Whistle. They emailed back and said they didn't think any of their stations would play something like that, and then provided a list of their many stations serving the Seattle market. This is just how main stream media acts. They watch the money and don't take risks.
