Netizens are hating on EXO's Lay for his behavior during the '2016 Asia Artist Awards.'

One netizen posted two screenshots from when EXO won an award, pointing out the fact that Lay had his hands in his pockets from beginning to end.  This is considered extremely rude in Korea.

Although some could say he was not familiar enough with the Korean culture, most of the comments by netizens were derogatory and sarcastic: "Sorry, Shangdu has no common sense," "I hear he's some sort of Chinese solo artist?  It's my first time seeing him.  Why is he doing that there, geez ;; He's not someone we know," "We don't know who that is," "After becoming a fan of EXO and before the scandals erupted, I thought Lay was nice, but gradually, he's become more and more arrogant ; or was he always like that ;;" "Sorry, he's a pigeon so he doesn't know the etiquette of humans..." "Heol, that's not right.  It's an award event and there are probably the fans, seniors, colleagues, and juniors all in front of them...." "Can you not call him an idol but a solo artist?" "Lay's Weibo and Instagram photos [still support China's claim that all surrounding lands are theirs], are you effing dense; it's my first time seeing someone with their hands in their pockets when winning an award," "We don't know him and we won't ever know him," "Lay was always impudent," and more.
