In a recent interview, rookie girl group Momoland was asked who their role model was!

JooE said, "As a whole, I think we respect Girls' Generation.  Each of the members are personally popular, too, and they're a long-lasting group.  We want to be like them in that they show a variety of colors."

Jane said, "The one group, Girls' Generation, has become one brand.  I wish that Momoland would also become like that after working hard."

Hyebin added, "They match each concept they do for each song, and the members all seem different.  That's why I find it so cool that they can show a lot of different stuff.  I also view their teamwork as amazing."

Can you see them becoming the new Girls' Generation?

Literally if you're in a girl group in Korea it is everyone's goal to be like SNSD. I mean they are literally the nations girl group. The are the definition of goals for girl groups in Korea

Winston Melina45d Saturday, November 12, 2016

i think because while first gen girl groups like SES and FinKL are forever the nation's fairies. SNSD achieved awards that i think in the history of GDA or MAMA etc, (since the 80's or 90's till 2016), no other girl group has ever won a Digital Daesang (or like Song of the Year), (except 2NE1), let alone a Disk Daesang (GDA 2010, for Oh!), which is like the Album of the Year equivalent. And i think that record is going to be hard to beat since the boy groups are now so strong, selling 1mil or more albums, back then 300k was like enough to get you a Daesang. but now the bar is raised so much higher and harder to get now.

What about Momo their patron saint?

BritishSone Friday, November 11, 2016

Its great that so many of the new girl groups look up to SNSD as inspiration. If only specific fans could show as much respect towards SNSD as their favourite groups do.

thefabcat92 Friday, November 11, 2016

why do they always ask this question anyway? everybody already knows the answer. their concept match with SNSD more, of course they are going to say SNSD. almost every new girl group answer the same. but face this, you might be popular later on, but to be as popular as them...i don't know. Kpop has become saturated right now. i'm pretty sure a few years later, people will lost their interest on kpop.

How retro.

BigBlueagain Friday, November 11, 2016

As expected of SNSD.

Winston Friday, November 11, 2016

Its really hard to be like SNSD, i mean you can break records with YT MV views and win music show awards, I am talking about winning "Grand Prize" (Daesang) at Year End Awards, right now only the mega boy groups like EXO and possibly BTS have a chance at it, and girl groups can only hope for awards like "Best Female group" and not "Song of the Year", "Album of the Year", or "Artist of the Year", and SNSD has managed to win so many Daesangs in MMA, MAMA, GDA, SMA etc, The other girl group who managed to win Grand Prize is 2NE1, and no one else did, not for a VERY VERY long time, I wonder who will be the next girl group to be able to Hit so BIG that they can score 1 or 2 Grand Prize.

Twice_Twice Winston Friday, November 11, 2016

girl groups can only hope for awards like "Best Female group" and not "Song of the Year", lol at this comment, ill come back to this after Cheer Up win SOTY

codename_m Twice_Twice Friday, November 11, 2016

And your point is..?

Twice_Twice codename_m Friday, November 11, 2016

didnt you read? he said girl group can only hope for daesang, which is not true

intricate Twice_Twice Friday, November 11, 2016

You're probably right that TWICE will win some of those rewards, but only because SNSD isn't that active anymore.

Twice_Twice intricate Saturday, November 12, 2016

Im referring to OP that no one can win daesang for girlgroup except for SNSD. Such a bold comment

Paraphernalia Winston Saturday, November 12, 2016

Hmmm..let's see.

codename_m Twice_Twice Saturday, November 12, 2016

I think the OP mean as in right now where kpop dominate once again by boy group, but who knows, someone from girl group can win this year~

Winston Twice_Twice Saturday, November 12, 2016

2NE1 did win a few, like "I am the best" won SOTY before. but since the era of SNSD/2NE1, i dun see any other girl group close to repeating the same level of success.

Winston Twice_Twice Saturday, November 12, 2016

I dun mind to be proven wrong, if TWICE's Cheer up or TT wins SOTY, but i just highly doubt it will based on sales and download statistics and not votes.

intricate Winston Saturday, November 12, 2016

Which other (girl) groups are outdoing them at the moment though? Maybe they won't win by a large margin, but for example, SNSD haven't released a single thing this year (apparently they will do so later on, but I doubt it will do well enough to beat cheer up in time).

Twice_Twice Winston Saturday, November 12, 2016

Vote only 10% or 20%

Nice. Thanks for loving soshi. Each member being different, talented and famous in their own speres is quite important for the group's long term development. That's for sure. GG did a pretty good job.
