I'm excited about the color, I just dyed my hair that color a week ago! And the dreads look good, I think he's done them better than any kpop idol I've seen with them

NinjaPandaChu Friday, September 2, 2016

Waiting with snacks for people to start hollering about cultural appropriation.

Keepinitkreal NinjaPandaChu Friday, September 2, 2016

If you see it coming then obviously it is what it is

NinjaPandaChu Keepinitkreal Friday, September 2, 2016

Dreads have been around for literal millennia. Minoan civilization, ancient Greece. Given how much the Greeks influenced history and likely even modern day things in society, I'd say it's fair game to use their hairstyles. Even if it's been more widely associated with a specific group.

Never did I disagree

To those who says that African Americans needs to get over this owning shit is like saying to for African Americans to forget about slavery, you have to understand what African Americans have been through, especially during slavery times where we were stripped of things that helps make up our culture, people taking our ideas & claiming it has they're own not even bothering to give credit, it's like you working hard for something & someone steals your idea & make money off of it but don't give you not even a dime or even credit your name, if that keeps happening to you, sooner or later you'll start getting very protective over what's yours & that's exactly what African Americans do, you have to understand the REASON why they say the things they say & act the way they do when they see someone mimicking something from they're culture, it's also a little frustrating because whenever someone else does something that comes from African Americans they're deemed all cool " oh oppa is so sexy" " oppa so handsome" "oppa got swag" but when an African American does it no one praises them, they think they're just being ghetto & living the hood life. Everybody praises everybody else but from the people these artists get they're ideas from but has an African American myself I don't find nothing wrong with Bobby wearing locs, I think they look nice on him but for those who are in these comments saying mean things about locs then you should dislike everything else that has come from African Americans including your favorite oppas music &' style, especially these k hip hop groups.

I agreee to say his hair looks ugly is insulting to africans. I dont find his hair offensive bcz i know korea and a lot of other countries are not so gung ho about about cultural appropriation, more like cultural appreciation but it varies from person to person. Yes i know all abt darker/tan skin tone being unpretty and thats not gonna disappear anytime soon so we cant force everyone to be exactly like west when it comes to certain issues. Anyway, if bobby is sporting this look then fans/public should keep the negative comments to themselves

Liyah_sun kpoplolita Friday, September 2, 2016

Exactly, if anything everybody whose a fan of Bobbiy should know how much he he admires African American culture especially the hip hop area, I just wish people would keep they're negative comments to themselves, of course not everybody's going to like his hair but them saying disrespectful comments about his hair , how would the people whose saying those things like it if somebody said something things like that about something was apart of they're culture ugly? They most definitely wouldn't like it &' yes the darker skin tone being deemed unattractive will until people either stop being white washed or choose on they're own to become more open minded, but everything's changing, it might be happening very slowly but it's changing. We can only pray for the day countries like Korea will find beauty in other body, facial features besides besides pale skin, big eyes & a small frame.

First the stylists decide the hair and clothes for these types of pictures. Two you can absolutely say a hair style looks ugly on someone without being racist or insulting another culture. A hairstyle that looks fabulous on one person can look horrible on another. Perfect example take two celebrities and give both of them the exact same haircut but use one celeb with really high cheek bones and defined features and the other celeb having a super round face and I guarantee you the hairstyle will not look good on both of them. Dreads do not look good on Bobby and just because your music is heavily influenced by something doesn't mean you have to copy everything associated with it.

kpoplolita Blue82 Friday, September 2, 2016

i think u are mixing my points and with those brought up by the user below me who mentioned musical influence, i didnt say anything about his style and preference. Yes i know the stylist chooses it. We r on the same page but i was specifically referring to comments made by netz saying "oh hes doing back hair, black hairstyles are ugly" like that. yes of course certain hairstyles flatter some more than others but perhaps it depends on the context when expressing your dislike for the style. I don't mind the dreads not because HE likes hiphop etc but because i genuinely think its not terrible style for him. There are 2 separate points 1) "X style does not SUIT Person A but SUITS others" 2) "This hairstyle is worn by Xppl and its ugly no matter who sports it, therefore Xppl have ugly hairstyles." I was talking about discriminatory comments like #2. You were talking about suitability.

Liyah_sun Blue82 Friday, September 2, 2016

Peoples choice of words are wrong is what we were trying to state, instead of saying "dreads are ugly" they can simply say "that hairstyle doesn't suit him" &' you can necessarily say "dreads don't look good on Bobby" because what you might not find suitable for him somebody else will, I tend to think the dreads look good on Bobby, now don't get me wrong , I'm saying because he likes hip hop that's it's ok for him wear "black" hairstyles because that's a dumb statement &' that's not what I meant, that's just like saying just because a person loves hip hop that it's ok for them to say the N word, no. I said that for those who felt " offended " by Bobby wearing a hairstyle that's associated with the African American culture.

I love Bobby and MIno for some reason I don't want them to release their solos at the same time (It is a day of difference but still)
