They turned heads on 'Produce 101,' now they're debuting as a 10-member girl group. Consisting of Siyeon, Kyungwon, Yewon, Minkyung, Eunwoo, Sungyeon, Yebin, Kyla, Nayoung and Pinky, these girls are NU'EST, After School and Seventeen's sister group. This is their new digital single "We." Members Eunwoo and Sungyeon composed the song, and Minkyung, Eunwoo, and Sungyeon penned the lyrics.

The tune doesn't start well, reminding me a lot of "For You" by Lovelyz. I don't know if that's intentional, but it's not good. The main verses, though, do have this sweetness about them that lifts my mood. By the time the chorus hit I forgot all about Lovelyz -- these girls have their own sound. Siyeon, Yebin, and Kyla handle the rapping duties in this song. The rap is, unfortunately, standard idol rapping, with all that implies. I do like the message in the song, about standing together no matter what.

The tune is kind of catchy, but also a bit bland. Frankly, I wished they'd picked a better song as a single, something with a little more fierceness. As it is, they'll probably be lost in the glut of cute groups coming out this year.

I'll be honest: I've seen better music videos. There seemed a lot of nothing going on. For the first half of the MV they were hanging out in a park, doing various aegyo gestures. Then, they're dancing in a school gym, living it up at a party, applying makeup. I think it was supposed to reinforce the theme of togetherness -- except that two members don't actually appear in the video.

I'm not sure how they could have made this any better, but you'd think they could. Maybe not drowning everything in filters after half the video has been shot might help. It just didn't hang together as well as I might have liked.

The scenes in the park looked low budget, and the rest of the sets were uninspiring. I was hoping Pledis would be spending more money on these girls. I'm hoping they do something clever next time around. This video gets a giant meh.

well, it's AKP opinion. But I'm not surprised if the girls will come out with fiercer real debut track. You have yet watch how Shannon kill her high notes tho, and not to forget Pledis artist usually have iconic debut songs like Ah!, Face & Adore U. Lets see how it will go :)

5.5? :/ They made the song themselves, the message was sweet and the mv too. Truthfully, I loved this song and I'm sure they could make much better songs after debut.

KpopRox94 Hun_Han Tuesday, July 12, 2016

Its the MV which pulled them down..the song itself is great IMO

fashlee_01 Sunday, July 10, 2016

I think this mv is enough to introduce the members.. unless this is their official debut song so I will agree with the low standard comment..

mesalina Sunday, July 10, 2016

It's not even an official debut, man...

Honestly, I love this song and everything that comes with it. The simplicity of it all makes it more beautiful, I just love it.

"The rap is, unfortunately, standard idol rapping, with all that implies. I do like the message in the song, about standing together no matter what." did you expect them to spit smtm bars in a song like this tho

This review is way too critical, Pledis Girlz are a very strong vocal group, with a lot of rappers too! They are showing many talents that just aren't as common anymore. Keep in mind this is still a pre-debut

forgivemenot1 Saturday, July 9, 2016

yes the music video was meh but that's because it's a "pre-debut" music video for a group that doesn't even officially have a name yet; this was just a teaser to keep people interested until they do debut and should be seen more as advertising, they weren't going to spend a lot of cash on the music video. The song though wasn't bad and because they wrote it themselves shows that these girls have talents that go beyond just looks and sound, like SEVENTEEN Pledis seems to be going for groups that can be creative and more involved in production/producing which can only be a win for everyone in the end.the song itself is low key and if you watch any of their live concerts it's their going out number, the song they sing before leaving the stage, it's not supposed to be hyper or intense, nor does it reflect their performances that went before it which were much more girl power rather than cute; despite that I still think it was a better effort than gugudan which "was" a proper debut by girls three of which showed they were powerful singers then threw away that potential by putting out music that was so bland and generic that I truly felt sorry for them, so yes the song wasn't bad and the music video wasn't masterfully done but judging it in the same context as a debut video is wrong because that's not what its supposed to be.

i agree this song has it's own sound compared to some other girl groups who are doing the same concept. I find the song quite nice so i don't get why its score is as low as gugudan's which is probably not as good
