During her interview, she surprised us by revealing that she's a former YG Entertainment trainee and was actually a candidate for 2NE1! Before that, she auditioned for a total of 9 years since grade 6 before she got into a company. If that's not dedication, we don't know what is!
Linzy shared there weren't many trainees at the time at YGE, and she spent a lot of time with the 2NE1 members and SPICA's Bohyung. Eventually, she left YG Entertainment and joined LOEN Entertainment, where she became the FIESTAR member you know her as today.
She shared, "If I had become a 2NE1 member, more people would have been aware of me and I would have gotten more money and fame, but I think that wasn't my path."
Linzy also revealed that she's still close with SPICA's Bohyung, but has grown apart from the 2NE1 members as they are very busy. Also, Linzy spent another four years as a trainee at LOEN, and 2NE1 had already become 'sunbaes' by the time FIESTAR debuted. When she met 2NE1 at a music show, she thought that they might have forgotten about her, but they called her name first and approached her, and she said she was very touched by that.
Her role models, as a group and individually, is Girls' Generation. She admires how they've been able to promote for so long as a group, as the unit TaeTiSeo, and individually on variety programs.
Even though she's FIESTAR's main vocal, Linzy kept it modest by saying, "I don't think that my voice is something I was born with." She said that as she was trying to fix what she was lacking, she became the group's main vocal.
