YG Entertainment informed media outlets, "Big Bang's new single which was unveiled at midnight on July 1 has taken over iTunes Singles Chart in 16 countries including Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Norway, Peru, the Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and more. Even in the the U.S. they ranked #4, and #22 in the U.K."�
However, after making this announcement, Big Bang went on to grab #1 in 3 more countries, so that they've now topped the iTunes Singles Chart of 19 countries.
This list includes Brunei, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Finland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Panama, Peru, the Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam!�They've also now hit #3 in the U.S. and #17 in the U.K.�
