Director Park Sang Hoon has stated that the next part of the 'School' series is in its planning stages, but nothing has been confirmed. With the first series starting in 1999 and going on until 2002, the show has launched a number of big names, such as Jo In Sung, Jang Hyuk, Ha Ji Won, Lee Dong Wook, Choi Kang Hee, and more. As a teen drama about the struggles of Korean youth, viewers found the show relatable.
When it returned in December of 2012, 'School 2013' started a hot trend once again, especially with the Kim Woo Bin - Lee Jong Suk couple. Kim Woo Bin picked up 'Best New Actor' at the '6th Korea Drama Awards' and the '2nd APAN Star Awards' for his performance in the series as well.
