Wheesung's agency stated, "Wheesung will complete his 2-year military service and will be discharged as a Nonsan Army Training Station sergeant on the Friday morning of August 9th, 2013. On this day, at the location of his discharge, he will have a small gathering with the fans who've waited for him and will give his greeting."

Wheesung was previous sentenced to 3 days in military prison for possession of a cell phone and thus, his discharge date set for August 6 was pushed back to August 9. Prosecution also dropped charges against the singer for alleged propofol abuse during his time in the army.
After overcoming these bumps in the road, Wheesung will now return to the public eye and immediately get to work on his new album.
