A media outlet revealed how voice actors are negatively effected by celebrities who command big money for voice acting gigs. For the movie 'Sammy's Adventure 2', IU had a guarantee of 100 million KRW, which is up to 50 times higher than the average. In contrast, a typical voice actor will make around 2 to 5 million won (approximately $1,800 - $4,600 USD) per voice acting gig.

The movie had garnered over 1 million viewers at the box office after news spread that IU had lent her voice to the movie. Since the movie saw such huge success with IU's help, many believe that she was well deserving of the 100 million KRW guarantee.

However, others pointed out that if idols keep taking all the voice acting jobs, actual professional voice actors would be pushed aside. Also, the lines spoken by idols who aren't used to voice acting are sometimes problematic, and not delivered perfectly.
