Purplay's Woomi has been revealed to to be named after the label CEO's first love.
Woomi revealed that the CEO of Purplei ENT had messaged her telling her she was going to be called 'Woomi' from now on. She later found out that the name was from her CEO's first love, and said, "I realized how much he was expecting of me." The girls also revealed that Jiyo and Seolha were also names given from the label. Eeple was named by Woomi herself, because her clean and unique image was impressive.
Eeple revealed, "Woomi unni said it's a name she's thought of for a while. It means 'words connecting pure sounds'. I'm thankful for Woomi unni for providing me a pretty name."
Purplay released their debut single "Love and Remember" back on February 7th.
