On July 20th, Nam Gyu Ri posted the above photo on her Twitter with the short words "17:1 Hwang Mija", stunning her fans with the blatant bruise she had on her face. (History: 17:1 or 17 vs. 1 is a phrase popularized from the hit gangster movie "Beat" (1997), starring Jung Woo Sung, where they talk about a 17 vs. 1 fight).
In the revealed photo, Nam Gyu Ri showed off her doll-like features with a purple bruise under her eye.
However, on the July 22nd broadcast of KBS 2TV's 'Drama Special 3', it was revealed that Nam Gyu Ri's bruise was only the illusion of make-up as she was preparing for her role as the character Hwang Mija.
Followers who saw Nam Gyu Ri's photo afterwards responded, "I watched your drama well. The enthusiastic performance was the best", and "Your acting skills get better and better".
