Ailee's active past in America is belatedly receiving recognition.
According to management company, YMC Entertainment, Ailee had previously appeared on NBC's popular talk show, 'Maury Show' back in 2008 and placed 2nd in a talent singing competition.
The 'Maury Show' held a special where they displayed a variety of talents as contestants, who would then be voted as the fan favorite through an online poll.
Ailee was 18 when she first appeared on the show as she showcased her strong vocals by singing Rihanna's 'Unfaithful'.
Ailee is currently on leave from Pace University in New York to promote her first single, "Heaven", and is also acting in KBS's 'Dream High 2'.
