MBC's "Birth of a Great Star" contestant, Baek Chung Gang, recently clarified the rumors that are currently plaguing him. On May 26th, Baek Chung Gang wrote on his Me2Day, "Hello. This is Chung Gang. I'm pretty sure everyone was surprised. I was surprised too. I never wrote those words before. I am really disappointed. Regardless, I will do my best during the live broadcast tomorrow. Please support me. Thank you always ^^". That post was in response to the recent rumors that have been going around about him, claiming that he made anti-Korean statements. On one forum, a screen caption with the title "Baek Chung Gang belittling Korea" was uploaded. This screen caption was allegedly from Baek Chung Gang's friend's mini-homepage. On the friend's mini-homepage, Baek Chung Gang supposedly wrote, "Why do you like Korea? They look down on us. If I go to Korea and become a singer, I will step (look down) on all Koreans". With Baek Chung Gang's clarifications, it seems that the uproar has died down a little. Netizens who saw the clarifications stated, "I believe in Baek Chung Gang", "Good luck on your performance tomorrow", and "Wasn't that (the screen caption) photoshopped?"
