SNSD's Taeyeon and Sooyoung's kiss on 'Music Core' attracts negative attention

Yesterday on 'Music Core', SNSD made their comeback into the music scene with "Hoot" and also treated fans to a performance of "My Best Friend." While everyone was primarily focused on their"Hoot" performance, a certain incident in "My Best Friend" ended up becoming the dominant topic of the night. During their special stage of "My Best Friend," leader Taeyeon and fellow member Sooyoung were seen exchanging what appeared to be a light peck on the lips. Though they probably did not actually have any lip contact - Taeyeon covered the "kiss" with her hand - they obviously meant the gesture. When asked, SM Entertainment expressed, "It was just an expression of their friendship and their song is about their friendship so they just wanted to express it in a loving way on stage." Ironically, netizens were not pleased by this "fan service" moment as they commented, "That was a bit crude, as they are from the same girl group" and "Although it was cute, it was not good/comfortable to watch."
