It was announced that Dong-A Otsuka (distributor for Pocari Sweat) had recently inked a contract with popular actress Kim So Eun of KBS2TV Boys Before Flowers to endorse their Pocari Sweat energy drink. Fresh-faced (newbie) actresses who have been picked to endorse Pocari Sweat have also been termed as one who would make great strides in their career. Those who were once Pocari Sweat girls include Go Hyun Jung (1991), Shim Eun Ha (1994), Jang Jin Young (1997), Son Ye Jin (2001) and Lee Yeon Hee (2005). Dong-A Otsuka expressed, "Kim So Eun's fresh innocent clean image in Boys Before Flowers has been played out over and over again and we see great potential in her which ties in well with our Pocari Sweat energy drink brand positioning." Despite her busy filming schedule for Boys Before Flowers, Kim So Eun still managed to eke out some time to go to Thailand where she films the CF on the sandy white beaches near a popular holiday resort. The CF also sees Kim So Eun playing around with other kid models. Despite the pictures, the CF will only greet viewers in April via television.
