NCT's Mark opened up about being an idol rapper.

On the March 31 airing of 'School Rapper', the finalists prepared for their final match. The topic for the stage was 'letter'.

Mark decided to write a message or a letter to fellow high schoolers. While in a discussion about the final stage, Mark's mentor Xitsuh asked Mark if he ever struggled due to the stereotype against idol rappers.

Mark answered, "Honestly, I felt it a little in the beginning. It was hard because of that perspective." And he added, "That made me practice harder and changed my mindset."

i feel proud on mark not just because he can rap but because at his young age he did his best not only as an artist but also as a student. imagine at morning you go to school and in evening go practice or do something as an artist but still survive. damm mark is amazing.

Well, I don't know much about rappers but I know creativity. Mark is the definition of it, not all people can do what he can. I think he deserves to be acknowledged by it.

Being a rapper, a real one regardless of idol group or idol not requires actual passion for it. just because you position in a group is rapper doesn't necessarily make you one. Plus you need a fair amount of background knowledge with hip hop, the ability to write your own lyrics, a well-practiced flow, and stage presence. All of this usually requires practice in the underground rap scene where many real rappers come/train from, which is why there's an emphasis on which rappers spent time there before debuting (Rap Monster, Zico, Mino, etc.).
