New variety show calling for men who want to take revenge against women infuriates netizens

Netizens are furious at an upcoming XTM variety show.

The show, titled 'Namwon Sangsa (short for Male Vitality Increasing Company)', will be MCed by Shin Dong Yup, Kim Jun Ho, and Jang Dong Min. In a call to look for people to be guests on the show, the show says, "Men who have been oppressed by women, rise up! Male territory will start to increase with 'Namwon Sangsa'." It promises to help men who haven't been able to 'sleep comfortably' because of strong women recharge their energy.

Some of the requirements include, on top of having an XY chromosome, men who "want to take revenge on women", men who want to "live the romanticized male life", men who have "injured male souls", and more.

Of course, the program was met with intense fury not just among women but disbelieving men, who couldn't believe what was happening, especially in a country that was as strongly dominated by males as Korea is. Jang Dong Min, being one of the MCs, merely adds salt to the wound, as he had once had to step away from the entertainment industry because of his misogynistic words

In an attempt to placate some of the anger, XTM said, "It's a program to support men who are exhausted by this generation, and it was planned to help understand men and also foster understanding between men and women. We think the expressions that we used to try to humorously deliver the message of the program caused some misunderstanding. We will be more careful in planning so we could create a program that can be resonated with."

The show is programmed to air in April.

For some reason, I was not surprised seeing Jang Dong Min's name as co-host.

Jang Dong Min just shot himself in the foot, again. The show looks wrong just the way he is, and with an MC with his past, there's no way this will end well. This poor injured male souls must have it really bad in a country like Korea, just imagine the hell they would go through is they were in some other country, where women and man would refuse to put something like this on TV :')

Wait I'm confused...Is this show supposed to tell men HOW to take revenge against women? Because if that's true I'm terrified. But maybe I'm misunderstanding it. Can someone explain? Thanks!

So males don't have the equality to express their hardships/thoughts with/on oppressive women?  This TV show probably won't be as their name makes it look.  But too early to judge?  The first episode is out though so maybe we need to take a look

We really don't. If a woman hits you, you have to take it. If she insults you, you come back, she cries, it's your fault. You get in a fight and her friends are ALL in dat chit. Your friends are smart enough to keep their balls out of anything that's not directed at them. And watch the reaction of the women here. Even the very few that actually like me will pull this.

no one said males don't have the equality to express their hardships, etc, but is a show with this premise really necessary? it's actually frightening

Oh boy... who the fuck had this idea? Of course an injured male soul. Also what the hell is the "romanticized male life?" I think they meant utter misogynist bullshit. And don't get me started on "men who have been oppressed by women, rise up!" Um, excuse me??? Korea is a patriarchy, so the ones who are oppressed are women. I hope this show gets canceled.
