StarNews reached out to 22 industry professionals at the top of the Korean entertainment world -- agency presidents, executives, broadcasting studio producers, composers, music producers, and more -- to find out which songs and singers they think were the best in 2016!

Best Artist of 2016

TWICE was selected by 10 of the professionals as the 'most successful group of the year'! This year was their second year in the industry, but "Cheer Up" and "TT" were both huge hits. Their third mini-album also did great in sales and their songs ranked high on all music charts. The "Cheer Up" MV reached 1 million views on YouTube in the shortest time period in the history of K-Pop music videos.

BTS placed second place with 8 votes from the industry insiders for the most successful group of 2016. Big Bang, EXO, and Zico earned 1 vote each.

Guys there is a difference in who is the most succesful and who is the most talented... These professionals answered about success, not talent :) And if you like it or not, Twice and BTS had the most success this year. Groups like Bigbang and EXO had a huge success too, but they have had success before as well, thats why twice and bts had a better year as it was this year they got a lot of recignition. While Exo and Bigbang slayed as they have done before. Like last year was Gfriend, but that doesnt mean Gfriend was the most popular group in 2015, but it was their year to shine, they were successful!

Omg this comment section... But BTS tho. I'm really happy they getting more and more recognition from professionals and from audience. I'm happy if they make it in 10 place, but 2 place is huge because people in Korea don't really notice them. I don't know why people surprised and salty. These results basically close to given awards at MMA and MAMA.
