Previously, 'The Legend of the Blue Sea,' starring Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun, was criticized for allegedly plagiarizing 'Sherlock.'  It seems to be having a hard time escaping from the plagiarism controversies, because it is now being accused of also copying movie 'Splash.'

The movie 'Splash' focuses on a successful young businessman who falls in love with the mermaid who saved him from drowning in the ocean.  Drama 'The Legend of the Blue Sea' focuses on a genius conman falling for the last mermaid on earth.

However, netizens are saying it's not only the basic plot that is similar but also Jun Ji Hyun's behavior as a mermaid, such as learning how to speak like a human from TV, eating with her hands because she doesn't know how to use eating utensils, misunderstanding the traffic signs, and more.  These were previously portrayed through 'Splash's female lead. Netizens are saying the behaviorisms are too similar, like she's just repeating what the other leading lady had done in her own film.

I think they do not know the meaning of plagiarism. If the whole story is the same and without credit the real source we can conclude that it is a plagiarism.

The plot of this tv drama has a very COMMON PLOT. A mermaid falling in love with a prince charming. This has been done in almost every country I could think of. So whoever is complaining about the plot is dumb as fu**..

Okay but not so much the plot, but it's Jun Ji Hyun's acting that is (apparently) identical to Splash. So. Not plot. Acting.

its not like (just leave them alone and shut up ) if they really took the idea from there and  maybe knew there is a story that looks similar somehow ..then they should have at least took the rights to copy the work ..everything have a rule and this should follow the rules also ..so dont get biased .when a kpop song for example gets plagiarised what will u do ? of course everyone will get mad .
