T-ara's popularity in China continues to rise, and this time, they have sold out Shanghai's Mercedes-Benz Arena Hall

In a recent interview with reporters in Seoul, T-ara stated, "We have come back after finishing up concerts in China in September." The group talked about how it feels to have completed concerts in 6 Chinese cities, and recalled happy memories of meeting fans up close.

The group shared, "We performed at the Mercedes-Benz Arena Hall in Shanghai and filled all 12,000 seats.  It was the biggest performance space. We were shocked by how big it was." The only other Korean group that performed at that venue was Big Bang

The members now plan to focus on working in Korea. They explained, "We hope for only one thing through the new song, 'TIAMO' -- we want to communicate with our fans closely and we want the fans to like the song...We want to be with our fans more."

T-ara will be holding their showcase for the new music on November 9 to kick off their promotion.

I thought Korean idol groups couldn't have concerts with more than 10,000 people in China now.  I don't understand how they filled 12,000 seats then.

well first, they're signed under a chinese company who promotes them in china and their chn ceo is one of the most powerful men in china. second, their concert was organized and sold out BEFORE the china ban.

Rather impressive that T-ARA can sell 12,000 seats in that manner.

EXO, Suju, TVXQ and JYJ have all had sold out concerts at the same venue... The reporter is misinformed.

Are you sure it's the same venue? I looked it up and the only Korean artist performers to have performed there are T-ara and Big Bang.

Yup. Exactly the same venue. If you google the artists' name and the venue, things will come up. Or, if you search "List of events at the Mercedes-Benz Arena" on Wikipedia, there's a list. 2PM and CNBlue and others were there, too.

They were there but are you sure they managed to sell out? From my knowledge I don't think any artist other than Big Bang have sold out that arena (and now T-ara) But like in all seriousness, T-ara's popularity in China is no joke.

Exo had two-day concerts there in 2014 and in 2015. Total attendance 20,000+ each time. Some others have had more than 12,000 also. That's the go-to place for concerts in Shanghai, so it's not surprising that Kpop groups with concert power in China will perform at that venue to sell out crowds. No knock on BB or T-ara, but these things (incl attendance) can easily be googled.
