During the mid-airing press conference for SBS's 'Incarnation of Jealousy,' actor Jo Jung Suk revealed that the scene in which he gets a breast examination to check for cancer was very, very real.

He said, "I actually did that.  It hurt so much.  It hurt so much that you could consider my expressions and the like to not be acting [but genuine reactions].  Should I say that I had felt it?  I think I was able to understand a little bit those feelings through the filming."

Not a lot of men could say the same thing.  It definitely looks painful... See for yourself in the clip below!

I've heard they can be very painful. Men can also get breast cancer but it's more rare in men. I have to have a mammogram sometime in the next year or so since I'm at a very high risk due to several family members presenting with breast cancer. I'm not looking forward to having my breast smashed for the imaging.

Due to a family history of breast cancer I've had the displeasure of going through the tests. Mammograms are painful. Period. But I rather due that than go through a biopsy again.  The most interesting one was the MRI, which was not painful (except for the IV contrast) but they had me on my tummy with my breasts hanging.  Hard to describe.

Is it true the MRI basically makes the mammogram redundant?

Yes, but health plans won't pay for them first unless something suspicious shows up in a mammogram/sonogram. I had a mammogram and sonogram, then a biopsy, and the same day an MRI. Since it was a false alarm all I do know is the mammogram/sonogram combo.

MRIs are very expensive, and due to the limitations related to possible metal in the body and such, mammograms are an option I think all women can use.

You need breast exams long before you're 50. Try 40.

Lets just say, if your doctors feels any kind of lump.. you Might need to get it tested. Unless they ask u if ur on your period then you probably dont need to. My doctor almost sent me to check it at age 20.

You certainly need to at least have a pap test every other year once you turn 18. My sister had to have that freeze treatment thing when she was only 19, pre-cancerous cells.

It's good that he wanted to understand his character and have real empathy but, I hope him saying how painful it was won't scare women away when they are due their screening.

Women will have to endure a lot of painful things long before they turn 40.

There are enough women too afraid to go for pap-smears, it won't help to have them also terrified of mammograms.

Mammograms are way more annoying than pap smears. It's all annoying and unpleasant but something that shouldn't be overlooked. Early detection saves lives and suffering. The alternative if you do get cancer is much worse.

I definitely don't think women need this man telling them a regular part of their health checkups is painful. The fact that pap smears suck and mammograms hurt is basically common knowledge to women.

Come on. It's Kdrama and they are ham handed at handling anything "controversial" but occasionally they try. Let's face it a lot of them still believe in "traditional medicine" which is can be helpful at times and deadly at others.

Why are you rambling on with the education? I know the education, my point is this could deter women. I think you often loose the point your'e trying to make because you get so caught up in disagreeing with people?

Seriously by the time you need to start having mammograms you won't care anymore about a little discomfort. Most of the time they aren't recommended until 40 unless you have a history. By the time you're 40 a mushed boob is nothing especially if you've had children.

You talk about 40 as though it's 80. Truth is the majority of women feel a knot in their stomach the size of a watermelon when they get that first invitation through the door. I've seen the face drop, it's cold fear.

And imagine what it feels like when there's a sizeable amount of breast tissue in there like women have...
