The world's biggest brand consulting company Interbrand gave SM Entertainment 46th place in an overall ranking for the 'Best Korean Brands 2016'.
On top of being the '#1 Entertainment Brand', SME is the only entertainment company to make it into the overall ranking. In the media/entertainment category, CJ E&M is honored with 42nd place, but it did not make it into the overall ranking.

An SME associate commented, "We are proud to be represented as Korea's top brand who has great fan traffic worldwide with success in both globalization and localization. We are going to work harder to grow as a global brand."
In addition, Interbrand stated that SM's brand is currently worth about
440,200,000,000 Won (~$380,000,000 USD). SM Entertainment is the label to numerous popular K-pop acts, such as Girls' Generation, Super Junior, EXO, f(x), Red Velvet, and more.
