Psy's side denies reports about a physical fight with tenants of his building

Psy

It has been belatedly reported that Psy'sside had gotten into a physical fight with his former tenants in the midst of a legal battle. However, his side has denied the accusations of assault and violence.

The issue stems from an ongoing legal issue that Psy has been fighting. Back in February 2012, Psy bought a building in Hannam-dong in Seoul. The previous owner of the building had sued the tenant, who operated a cafe in that building, and gave the tenant to move out by December 31, 2013. However, by July 2014, the tenant still had not moved out, and on August 26, 2014, Psy, the new owner of the building, filed for eviction.

The seoul court ordered for a forced eviction of the tenant on March 3, 2015, but on March 6, when the forced eviction was about to take place, the cafe's owner's request to halt the eviction was accepted by the court that day, and the eviction did not take place.

It was rumored that with this legal fight drawing up some tension, when Psy's people tried to enter the building recently through the cafe of the tenant, a fight broke out. It's said one cafe employee even had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance, and the fight came to a stop with the police arriving.

The lawyer of Psy, however, denied there was physical violence involved, stating, "The tenant called in numerous people and blocked our entrance. We didn't know these people, and there was no reason that the cafe employees would block our entrance. One employee, who got trapped in the building during all this, was unable to leave the room he got locked into, and was unable to go the bathroom or eat. That's why he was evacuated from the building and taken on an ambulance. There was no physical violence or assault that the tenant is insisting on."

The lawyer also added,"After the eviction ruling, the tenant should have moved out on his/her own but didn't, and so we went with legal proceedings. The request he filed has no legal effect because we had gotten our eviction ruling from the court before it was filed."
