'Pinocchio' gave its viewers a pretty grand Christmas present as it introduced a new plot twist that actually made things more interesting, bringing the show's events closer and closer to real life.

By this I, of course, am referring to Beom Jo's mother Ro Sa being the one to pull the strings in the background, using Cha Ok and the news to manipulate stories for her benefit. Of course. How could I not see this coming? The chaebol is always the villain, ALWAYS!!!

I'm actually not being sarcastic. As refreshing as it was to see Ro Sa and her son Beom Jo be kind towards other characters rather than act like the stereotypical, snooty chaebol, in reality, chaebols and politicians are known to secretly and sneakily run the show. Sure, Ro Sa and Beom Jo could've been the exception and I would've been fine with that. But having us realize that Ro Sa is not all that she seems and showing just how spoiled Beom Jo is (what with his difficulty understanding exactly what his mother did wrong at first, even after hearing that a child is living alone because of her) feels very true to life.

I appreciate that Ro Sa is no typical drama mama either who throws tantrums here and there when things don't go her way. Instead, she's calculating, deceiving, and wickedly smart. The way she calmly handles her whole bag controversy is enough to show us viewers that she is actually a very formidable opponent, and now I'm excited to see how our band of passionate reporters will take her down and expose her to the public.

Speaking of villains, I'm happy with how the Cha Ok issue was resolved when our reporters realized that they were hating more than they were reporting. Sometimes-Dal-Po-sometimes-Ha-Myeong (who has the most reason to hate Cha Ok) takes the most credit for this when he was able to come to his senses and step up for her when she was being wrongfully accused. Although I'm still uncomfortable with the fact that Yoo Rae made a hate group for Cha Ok, I realize that not every character is perfect, so she's still cool in my book. The fact that she still believes that Dal Po likes her as well as her aegyo antics makes her a hilarious character to watch after all.

Highlights:

Episode 13

We start off with Dal Po telling In Ha to lie for the sake of his revenge.

And she agrees. Wait what?! In Ha? The champion of honesty? Would agree to that??

Wait WHAT.

Thankfully Dal Po comes to his senses and does the right thing.

While also delivering some well-deserved sass Cha Ok's way. Shut. Down.

Translation: "I've been creeping on your texts for the past 13 years."

Translation: "I know you're going through a breakup right now but..."

Translation: "YOLO, let's date?"

Wait, is that it? Girl, he just told you he's been intercepting all your messages for 13 years. Why are you not reacting to the first half of his big confession?

Oh bro, that is not the way to a girl's heart. I am sorry.

Meanwhile, Yoo Rae is doing some creepin' of her own. Sasaeng style.

Drunk Ha Myeong/Dal Po is adorable and is the best Christmas gift 'Pinocchio' could've ever given me.

Sigh~, these two.

Now kiss.

Oh. Well. That works too. #bromanceFTW

Translation: "I have an opinion about this!"

Translation: "That hurts my feelings." Lol, jokes aside, as much as I understand that Ha Myeong is feeling paranoid that Beom Jo will sweep In Ha away, In Ha didn't really do anything wrong here.

Dayum, a simple, "You're welcome buddypalfriendzonedfriendyfriend," could've worked too In Ha.

Episode 14

Jeez, Cha Ok you just keep dropping everything everywhere don't you. No wonder this episode is called "Hansel & Gretel."

Girl, you have nothing to apologize fo--

Wait, what?

Well how else did you think your mom got so rich, bruh.

Plot twist #2--GO (now Ahn) JI HEE (Im Do Yoon) AND CHAN SOO GOT MARRIED?!

Plot twist #3--and they have this beautiful child as a son?!

The irony--when the sasaeng is the last to know about the couple of the year.

Oh my goodness, Grampa Gong Pil just listed himself as Jae Myeong's family. See, why can't the Choi's and the Ki's just merge to make one happy family, no separation for Dal Po needed!

Question of the century.

Great point. Why did I not think of this. Why did no one think of this?

Oh nooooooooo.

NOOOOOOOOO.

Chan Soo baby nooooooo!

Okay Cha Ok, when are you gonna stop asking people to prove that rumors are false. You should know by now that that's an absurd demand to make. C'mon!
