After hinting at a new project coming up with a mysterious image last week, YG Entertainment is back to reveal what they have up their sleeves with a teaser and an official announcement.
As mentioned previously, the new project is called NONA9ON (pronounced 'nonagon'), and we were given two dates - April 9 and April 11. It seems April 9 was indicating this teaser release which shows us a group of men performing some kind of tribal dance and acrobatics with various props, complete with face and body painting. The only other piece of info it offers are the words '1st Invasion' and the date September 9, 2014.
Although the teaser doesn't offer much insight by itself, the agency has simultaneously sent out a press release to unveil the identity of this project. So what is it? If you were hoping this was a teaser for WINNER's debut or PSY's comeback or even the new girl group debut, sorry, that's not what it's for.
It's actually the name of an apparel brand that the agency is teaming up with Samsung Everland's fashion department for! The two companies came together under the name 'Natural Nine' and they revealed that the brand name 'NONA9ON' signifies variety and the infinite potential for growth.
The brand will target young consumers around the world interested in street culture and hip hop, and like its name NONA9ON, the brand will launch on September 9!
Yang Hyun Suk directed the performance you see in the teaser above, and you'll see more with another teaser release on the 11th.
