Actor Joo Won has been cast as the leading role in the upcoming MBC drama, 'The Secret Lovers'.
SIM Entertainment confirmed on the 28th, "Joo Won will be starring as the male, lead role for the 20 episode MBC drama, 'The Secret Lovers', which is set to premiere January 2013."
'The Secret Lovers' will be the TV version of the hit movie, 'My Girlfriend Is an Agent', starring Kim Ha Neul and Kang Ji Hwan. The drama will expectantly feature the story of a man and woman who date each other while not aware of each other's secret spy status.
The drama's production company, Apple Tree Pictures, revealed, "'The Secret Lovers' was the first project [drama] planned by the original film's writer, Chun Sung Il, and writers back in 2010 and took two years to come to fruit. We especially have high expectations for Joo Won as the leading male role for the production. Viewers will be able to see his consistent acting ability and sides of him that he hasn't shown before through this production."
