4minute's Gayoon talks about her nickname

4minute's Gayoon explained her nickname Kangnam Woman on Star Golden Bell. On the episode that aired on the 24th, she said, "I had no idea but online, my family's house price kept going up and up. A lot of people have misunderstood this situation." Kangnam is a rich part of Korea and I'm guessing the house was in Kangnam. Therefore, people were just referring her as a rich girl. She continued, "After I got this nickname, people were writing mean things and saying that I should try harder on stage no matter how rich I was. I do try hard." Another factor that got her this nickname was when she mentioned unfamiliar brands on interviews and turned down dduk-bok-i (spicy rice cake that is cheap) on a show. She was mistaken for being a rich snob at that point. When the MC asked whether or not her family does have a lot of money she joked, "We have enough to eat and live." What a lucky girl, rich and talented!
