'Superstar K' star Do Dae Yoon said he was involuntarily committed to a psych ward for bipolar.

On September 8th, Do Dae Yoon made a guest appearance on a YouTube channel that interviews celebrities who have been staying out of the limelight for years. Back in 2011, Do Dae Yoon and Kim Ye Rim(Lim Kim) blew up through a show called 'Superstar K.' The duo was scheduled to come back in May 2013, however, Do Dae Yoon went back to the U.S. to finish his school. In this interview, Do Dae Yoon opened up about what really happened back in 2012.

In March 2012, Do Dae Yoon said he was committed to a psych ward for two months. He said he had to take five different pills under the supervision of nurses. "It made me sleep well. I felt like they were treating me through sleeping." He recalled that his bipolar symptoms started right after 'Superstar K,' when he was embroiled in multiple controversies.

Do Dae Yoon said after two months in the hospital, he gained almost 20 kg and went from 62kg to 85kg. He commented that he couldn't make a comeback with Kim Ye Rim then, so he went back to the States. "I still go to a psychiatrist once a month but I'm doing much better now. I learned much more about my illness, as well as myself. I ultimately want to help people like me, whether it's going to be some sort of platform or something in person."

Ahem, pumping someone full with drugs isn't something that should be praised

Idk how to feel about this. It's good that he's going to therapy and feeling better now but from what I've read from the WHO, being involuntarily committed usually does more harm than good
