A secret note saved the life of a Thai woman who was forced into prostitution in South Korea.

Back in May, a young Thai woman walked into a supermarket in Busan around 4:20 a.m and cautiously handed a note to the cashier Kim (27).

In the note was a message in English, Korean, and Thai. The woman claimed that she has been trapped on the fourth floor of a building and was ''illegally working''.

The cashier suggested help and responded on the note, "Do you want me to call 112 (emergency services)?" The woman, who had several suspicious men with her at the time, rejected the idea in fear of getting caught. Instead, the cashier received a phone number from her while pretending to be needing the number for the supermarket's point reward system.

After the woman left, the cashier reported the note to the police around 8:30 a.m. The police started investigating the buildings around the supermarket but faced difficulties as the note did not include specific details.

However, the phone number on the note provided more clues as it matched with the number of Lee (38), who has previously been booked for running a prostitution establishment 'Kiss Room'.

A post on Facebook by a friend of the Thai woman also greatly helped the investigation. The post included a photo of the secret note and stated that her friend is locked up and has been forced into prostitution in Busan.

With the evidence, the police immediately rushed to a speculated building in Busan, where they were able to arrest Lee and 4 other men. In the building were 5 Thai women who were forced into prostitution.

Police revealed that Lee was introduced to the 5 Thai women by a broker Kim (40) back in January. He had the women locked up in the building from March to May and ran a prostitution business. Lee revealed to have received 100,000 KRW (~86 USD) per session. However, the Thai women did not receive any payments in the first month and were only given 40,000 KRW (~35 USD) in the second month per session.

The police have also booked 53 Johns who were engaged in prostitution. Currently, the investigation is ongoing with about 300 other men who are suspected to have used the prostitution establishment.

what kind of monster could actually do this, how do they get into a mood with female crying and begging

crystalCassie91 Saturday, July 8, 2017

Annnnnd this is related to kpop how?? This is a kpop site not a news site... I come to kpop to escape the harsh reality of life.. and here it comes back at me to slap me in the face..

ajumma86 crystalCassie91 Saturday, July 8, 2017

Actually this website posts LOTS of regular korean news. This is far from being the first time.

AshleyDaUnicorn crystalCassie91 Saturday, July 8, 2017

Life does not revolve around KPOP. If you've been on ALLKPOP before, you would know that they don't just write articles about KPOP.

makan crystalCassie91 Saturday, July 8, 2017

I understand your point, but I also understand bringing these sort of articles here. Maybe AKP should have this in separate section, maybe a current event section so that those who want to see it can, and those who just want to enjoy K-Pop can do that too.

AshleyDaUnicorn makan Sunday, July 9, 2017

It's labeled as a 'Current Event' article.

Instead of hiding from the bad things in life try doing something to change the world and then there will be no bad things.

crystalCassie91 AshleyDaUnicorn Sunday, July 9, 2017

I know this is not the first time... since I've been around here since 2008.. but the site name IS "allkpop".. so this is irrelevant.. It's like you have a site for "Gummy Bears", and then you post an article about Trump..

makan AshleyDaUnicorn Sunday, July 9, 2017

yes, I understand that. But every article shows up in one thread. I was just saying maybe AKP could make separate threads. But everyone can just choose not to read the post too...

I am so happy she was able to gain her freedom. Imagine being sold into prostitution, what a horrible life. I really hope no one meets with such a fate

allexyah Saturday, July 8, 2017

hanalala707 Saturday, July 8, 2017

Why this news on allkpop??? Ruined my mood

Chillz hanalala707 Saturday, July 8, 2017

So you think life is all about kpop???

ajumma86 hanalala707 Saturday, July 8, 2017

When someone posts an article about some poor lady's hard life and someone has the most "first world problems" reply to it.... Thai lady: *kidnapped, lied too, prostitute against her will, probably rap*d...* Hanalala707: My korean entertainment news (AND REGULAR KOREAN NEWS, CAUSE THIS ISN'T THE FIRST ONE) website upset me with actual serious news.

AshleyDaUnicorn hanalala707 Saturday, July 8, 2017

Ruined your mood? Do you want to try being in their place? I'm sure that would do much more damage than ruining your mood.

Green_Mirror hanalala707 Monday, July 10, 2017

I'm sorry but how dare you even say "ruined my mood" when these women went through so much shit... Do you even have empathy?

hanalala707 Green_Mirror Monday, July 10, 2017

I came here for kpop celebrity story...not shits her gone through...idc. Put that story in criminal news site or something

Green_Mirror hanalala707 Monday, July 10, 2017

You read the title, knew it wasn't about kpop, clicked on it and then complained about it not being kpop? Nobody forces you to read this article... If even a kpop celebrity news site cares, what does that make of you tho...

hanalala707 Green_Mirror Monday, July 10, 2017

That was messed up allkpop timeline and feeds...i don't like this

themsbabyg Saturday, July 8, 2017

These people surely have sisters mothers daughters .. how could they.

Black_wind Saturday, July 8, 2017

i hope all the men who exploit women like this drop dead this second

pink_oracle Black_wind Sunday, July 9, 2017

Now that'd be nice.

MunchieMinx Saturday, July 8, 2017

Good on the cashier for not ignoring her cry for help! Nice to know there are still decent people in the world.
