The New York Times reported Thursday that the hermit nation recently launched a streaming service called Manbangclaiming that it is a North Korean version of Netflix. Netflix lampoons this latest innovation from North Korea with their revised Twitter bio which now reads, "Manbang knockoff."

Manbang is yet another channel for Kim Jong Un to spread his propaganda and delivers on-demand videos to the North Korean citizens through a set-top box. According to boingboing.net, a North Korean news report credits 'Mangbang' for solidifying the nation's "socialist cultural power" and giving its citizens the power to watch their country "make a leap forward every day, every hour." North Korean citizens can also pick up the English and Russian languages via learning materials provided on the streaming service. Manbang is a service exclusive to North Korea over their own version of the internet named Kwangmyong
