VERIVERY’s Kangmin is set to expand his limitless charm and proven growth potential from the stage to the screen.
On February 27th KST, the KITS premium short-form drama "Jumpboy LIVE" tells the story of an underdog student at a science high school who dreams of becoming an influencer. After accidentally gaining the power of teleportation, he transforms into a "Live Hero." The project is directed by Lee Jung Hoon, who previously gained international acclaim at the Cannes International Series Festival for the mid-form drama The Hunter with a Scalpel. Kangmin takes the lead role, further heightening anticipation for his transition between music and acting.
Prior to this, Kangmin solidified his presence through his activities with VERIVERY and his recent appearance on the hit Mnet show "Boys 2 Planet." On the show, he captured the public’s attention with stable live vocals and energetic performances. Amidst the fierce competition to win over viewers, he proved himself to be a "growth icon" by showcasing his long-honed skills and sincere stage presence. Now, through "Jumpboy LIVE," he is ready to take a vibrant leap forward by showing a brand-new side of himself.
In the recently released trailer, Kangmin’s charm is particularly striking. He transforms into Lee On, a character who becomes a mega-influencer after gaining superpowers from a mysterious meteorite. This glimpse into his new role has already fueled high expectations among fans.
As the central figure driving the narrative and standing at the heart of the story's conflicts, Lee On is a crucial character. Kangmin is expected to portray the dramatic shift from a "rank-last outsider" to a "mega-influencer" using his signature deep gaze, bright smile, and fresh energy. This role marks the beginning of the "second act" of his growth narrative.
Kangmin previously played Joo Sun Jae in the web drama Snap and Spark, where he calmly depicted the anxieties and excitement of youth as a talented but scarred musician. His evolution into "Kangmin-style Hero Lee On" in this new project is sparking curiosity.
Building on the momentum and potential he displayed in Boys 2 Planet, Kangmin is expected to soar even higher with "Jumpboy LIVE." All episodes will be released exclusively on KITS on the 27th at 16:00.
