The historical film 'The King's Warden' (directed by Jang Hang Jun) is continuing its strong box office run.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated ticketing network, the film surpassed 6 million cumulative moviegoers on February 23. It reached the milestone faster than 'The King and the Clown' (29 days) and 'The Throne' (26 days).
It is also matching the box office pace of 'Masquerade.' The film has maintained the No. 1 spot at the overall box office for 11 consecutive days, leading a renewed boom in historical dramas.

'The King’s Warden' centers on Danjong, the sixth king of the Joseon Dynasty, and tells the story of the exiled young former monarch, a village chief who cares for him, and the people of Gwangcheolgol.
The film’s momentum appears set to continue. As of 9 a.m. on Feb. 24, it ranked first in real-time ticket reservations with a 54.2% share. In second place was 'Humint' (directed by Ryu Seung Wan), with 8.7%.
