YOUNG-J, leader of the dance crew Just Jerk, has announced his upcoming marriage.
The news has drawn heightened attention as it comes after he was previously embroiled in allegations regarding a relationship with a minor. His newly released wedding pictorial is now being viewed as both a personal milestone and a fresh start.
On February 17, YOUNG-J shared several wedding photos on his social media, along with the captions, “Happy New Year” and “Not much time left.” In the photos, he poses with his fiancée in a variety of dresses and tuxedos, creating a warm and celebratory atmosphere. His fiancée is known to be a former dancer who was active in Just Jerk. The two first met as leader and crew member before their relationship developed into a romance that ultimately led to marriage.
However, when news of their relationship first became public, controversy arose over speculation that their relationship may have begun while she was still a minor. Addressing the allegations at the time, YOUNG-J stated, “We began dating after my girlfriend became an adult,” adding that he sought permission from her parents before starting the relationship, taking their age difference into consideration. He also expressed an apology, saying, “I am sorry for causing confusion to those who supported and loved our team because of our relationship.”
Following the dating controversy, YOUNG-J also faced additional scrutiny related to military service issues, drawing public criticism on multiple occasions. Against that backdrop, the release of his wedding photos is being interpreted as an update on his current life and a message signaling a new chapter.
Meanwhile, Just Jerk gained widespread recognition after winning Mnet’s 'Street Man Fighter' and is also well known for becoming the first Korean crew to win the international hip hop dance competition 'Body Rock.'
