Kim Min Ji, a contestant of Netflix’s hit dating reality show 'Single’s Inferno 5,' is drawing attention after her first Instagram post following a major milestone - surpassing 1 million followers - turned out to be sponsored content.
As of February 10, Kim Min Ji’s Instagram following has climbed past 1.16 million. Since the show aired, global viewer interest has surged, rapidly propelling her into the ranks of a “mega influencer” in a remarkably short period of time.

This has reignited online discussion about the formidable advertising power traditionally associated with 'Single’s Inferno' alumni. Many netizens are speculating that the show’s proven influence in the advertising market is once again being replicated.
In fact, advertising fees for past 'Single’s Inferno' cast members have previously become a hot topic. Song Jia from Season 1 reportedly commanded fees of 30,000,000 KRW (approx. 20,594 USD) per Instagram post and 80,000,000 KRW (approx. 54,936 USD) per YouTube video, according to a January 20, 2022, report by AtStyle.

Similar trends have been observed among participants from other dating reality programs. Sung Hae Eun, who appeared on 'EXchange 2,' continued her active presence on YouTube and social media after the show, later revealing that she was able to purchase an apartment worth several tens of billions of KRW, sparking widespread buzz.
Lee Sian, who appeared on singer Shindong’s YouTube channel Geunbon Channel, also shared that her income increased dramatically after appearing on Single’s Inferno, stating that her monthly earnings jumped from around 10,000,000 KRW (approx. 6,863 USD) to as much as 100,000,000 KRW (approx. 68,631 USD) at times.

In response to Kim Min Ji’s post after reaching the 1-million-follower mark, online reactions have poured in, with comments such as, “The Single’s Inferno effect is real,” “Dating shows have proven their influence again,” and “We’re living in an era where appearing on a dating show is a shortcut to becoming an influencer.”
Others reacted more humorously, saying, “Starting my workout routine tomorrow. 'Single’s Inferno 6,' wait for me,” “Time to prepare for a dating show audition instead of job hunting,” “I never understood why people went on dating shows, but now I get it,” and “I’ll prep for a dating show instead of employment.”
Meanwhile, the final episode of Netflix’s 'Single’s Inferno 5,' featuring Kim Min Ji, was released on February 10.
