A distressing account has emerged revealing that broadcaster Ham So Won’s daughter is experiencing severe stress due to her parents’ ongoing conflicts.
MBN’s 'Dongchimi' recently released a preview clip titled, “A Grandmother Heartbroken Over Her Stressed Granddaughter.”
In the video, Ham So Won’s mother expresses her frustration, saying, “They’re not living together, but they’re not completely separated either. Going back and forth like this only confuses the child.”
Ham So Won addressed changes in her ex-husband Jin Hua, stating, “He has to build habits to spend time with the kid and make an effort so everything works out.”
However, her mother voiced continued concern, responding, “If that’s how you think, then you need to approach it with patience and guidance. You shouldn’t be fighting with him.”

Particularly heartbreaking were the changes observed in her granddaughter, Hye Jung. Ham So Won's mother shared, “When her expression looks dark, and I ask, ‘Are you upset because Mom and Dad fought?’ she answers, ‘Yes, I’m stressed’.”
She went on to add, “She bites her nails so badly that her fingers turn red and bleed,” deepening the shock. The remarks suggest that the child’s anxiety is manifesting through her behavior as a result of repeated parental conflict.
In an interview with the production team, the grandmother confessed, “I'm fine with them (So Won and Jin Hua) living together as long as they don't fight. But they are always fighting. I worry whether a child who grows up watching their parents fight can truly develop healthily. It breaks my heart.”
Ham So Won married Chinese national Jin Hua, who is 18 years younger than her, in 2017, and gave birth to their daughter Hye Jung the following year. The couple divorced in 2022, and Ham So Won is currently raising her daughter alone in South Korea.
