Actor Kim Seon Ho shared his satisfaction with the on-screen chemistry he built with co-star Go Youn Jung in the Netflix series 'Can This Love Be Translated?'
On January 20, Kim Seon Ho’s latest pictorial for ELLE was unveiled. The shoot captures a night that is both more intense and more serene than day, spotlighting Kim as multilingual interpreter Joo Ho Jin, a role that many are already calling another career-defining character for the actor.
Following the shoot, Kim Seon Ho sat down for an interview where he explained what drew him to the project. He shared, “In the story, Ho Jin and Mu Hee spend time together across different countries, gradually developing feelings for each other. Haven’t we all dreamed at least once of a romantic moment: meeting someone unexpectedly while traveling?” He added, “This series brings that dream to life right before your eyes, in those moments when it feels like every emotion could open up. That’s why I think the emotions between the two characters came through so clearly.”

Speaking about his romantic chemistry with Go Youn Jung, Kim Seon Ho explained, “I believe chemistry naturally forms when both people open their hearts. Fortunately, Youn Jung and I were very well aligned in terms of our energy and approach on set and in our acting. We focused on making the two characters feel real, doing our best to truly ‘live’ in each scene as naturally as possible.” He continued, “I was lucky to work with such wonderful people. It’s a project that came with a lot of good fortune for me.”
When asked what message he would most want conveyed if someone could fully interpret his heart to the world, Kim Seon Ho chose a simple yet meaningful word: “Facing things head-on.” He explained, “It’s not about excitement or fluttering feelings. As I continue acting, I want to properly face myself, reflecting on my shortcomings while also being generous enough to praise what deserves praise. In that sense, it means I don’t avoid things.”
Kim Seon Ho’s full pictorial and interview can be found in the February issue of ELLE and on the magazine’s official website.
