
Actress Im Soo Jung is mourning the passing of her mother, who passed away on Jan. 1, bringing heartbreaking news on the very first day of the New Year.
On Jan. 2, a representative from Im Soo Jung’s agency stated, “All funeral procedures related to actress Im Soo Jung’s mother will be held privately in accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family.” The agency added, “We ask for warm condolences for Im Soo Jung and her family, and we pray for the deceased to rest in peace.”
According to reports, Im Soo Jung’s mother passed away on Jan. 1. Upon receiving the sudden news on New Year’s Day, Im Soo Jung and her family have been keeping vigil at the funeral hall in deep sorrow.
In line with the family’s wishes, the funeral is being held privately, with the funeral procession scheduled for Jan. 4.
Im Soo Jung made her debut in the entertainment industry after winning the grand prize at a magazine cover model contest in 1998. She has since built a distinguished career through films such as A Tale of Two Sisters, Sad Movie, I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK, Jeon Woo Chi, Finding Mr. Destiny, All About My Wife, and Cobweb. She has also appeared in popular dramas including School 4, I’m Sorry, I Love You, and Search: WWW.
Most recently, Im Soo Jung received praise for expanding her acting spectrum through the Disney+ series Fine: Country Bumpkins, where she portrayed a darker, femme fatale–like character. She is currently preparing for her upcoming projects, including the tvN drama 'How to Become a Building Owner in South Korea' and the film 'The Second Child', in which she also participated as a producer.
